This UX is so quirky I don't think I would have any idea how to know when it was working properly (WAD) or not. IĬan position my mouse pointer somewhere, tap in the composition frame, then move my mouse and its pointer is where I left it. And this creates an example of non-synchronization of the two pointer sources. sometimes disappearing and sometimes not. Now I have switched this composition window to my Tablet and I'm seeing other pointer behaviours, e.g. as soon as the mouse pointer comes back here it turns into a I-bar pointer. Naturally now that I'm trying to test to confirm those observations, it's working-at least to the extent that the two pointer sources are synchronizing-but I still need to move my real mouse to see its pointer, regardlessīTW for a different kind of workaround what some are doing is enabling the Accessibility feature called Mouse Sonar and then pressing a Ctrl- key to identify the location of the pointer.Īlso, while typing this it occurs to me that it might be interesting to use an input area as another possible workaround. What I type isn’t what I see on the screen. The keyboard or touchpad is slow to respond. The Surface Type Cover or Keyboard works intermittently.
The pen (and touch) has its own pointer and sometimes not even clicking or Step 1: Which issue are you experiencing The keyboard or the touchpad doesn’t respond when typing or moving the cursor. There at least my pen can be used to show and move the mouse pointer. Unfortunately the keyboard refuses to popup when I tab in a text box, also taping the onscreen keyboard icon on the taskbar triggers no response. It is certainly different from how it works on W7. Hi all, I have a SurfaceGo without a physical keyboard, so the onscreen keyboard is of utmost importance. Sometimes the mouse pointer doesn't even follow the touch pointer.
I have a MS wedge mouse connected via BT, but the cursor is invisible regardless of whether I've got that device attached or not.īut is a wedge mouse a real mouse or a new kind of touch device? FWIW on W8 if I use a touch device my mouse pointer disappears.
